The Scientist Dr. Gitanjali Kundu brings a brilliant scientific mind to our mehfil. A trained Immunologist and Microbiologist, she holds a PhD from Wayne State University and currently serves as a Professor—proof that rigorous discipline and creative artistry can flourish together. The Artist Her musical credentials are equally impressive: Trained vocalist in the prestigious Gwalior gharana tradition, holds a Prabhakar degree under the legendary Ustad Bade Rashid Khan, and Second Place winner at Sur Sangam (Jaipur, 1992)—judged by maestros Naushad Ali Khan and Vishwa Mohan Bhatt. The Person Gitanjali calls Holmdel, New Jersey home, where she lives with her husband of 25 years and their daughter, who embarks on her college journey this fall. When she's not at the microscope or the microphone, you'll find her painting or tending to her garden.
